BILLIONAIRE MINDSET

Jorge Lopez

orge Lopez is a renowned construction industry professional with over a decade of project management experience . He is a Cuban American born in Miami , Florida , in 1985 . From a young age , Lopez demonstrated an interest in construction . During his formative years , his father served as a handyman and included Lopez in small renovations and construction projects around their house . This was an influential factor for Lopez that , aside from cultivating his interest in construction , also taught him technical skills that would serve him later in his life . As a teenager , Lopez worked for the City of Hialeah as a lifeguard . In this occupation , he was able to help others and make a difference in their lives . Following this mindset , he decided to pursue a degree in criminal justice and become a police officer . Though he did not yet realize that he would ultimately pursue a career in construction , his consideration for the wellbeing of others would directly contribute to the impeccable safety record boasted by Waypoint Contracting .
During the start of his college career , a friend of Lopez who worked in the industry gave him some insights that rekindled his interest in the construction field . At this point , Lopez realized that what he truly wanted was a profession in construction and his own company . So , he changed his major and began his undergraduate degree in construction management . While earning his degree , Lopez attained an entry-level position at a local general contracting firm located in Hialeah , FL . Through hard work and dedication , he worked his way up to superintendent . While serving as a superintendent , he was responsible for supervising projects worth up to $ 1M . Impressed with his performance and attention to detail , Lopez was promoted to project manager during which he oversaw the construction of multiple projects ranging from $ 50k to $ 10M for clients including Mt . Sinai Medical Center , Baptist Health South Florida , Miami- Dade County , Barry University , Hamilton Risk Management , and Telemundo .
In 2011 , Lopez was offered an opportunity to work as a program manager responsible for the oversight of various teams working on multi-million dollar commercial and institutional projects for a nationally recognized federal contracting firm based in Washington D . C . Here , he worked on projects at the Susquehanna Military Base in New Cumberland , PA , and NOAA Satellite Operations Facility in Maryland .
After over six years as a program manager , Lopez set out to start his own company . He felt that with the experience that he had accumulated , he would find success . Determined to serve his community and establish himself as an industry leader , he partnered with Katrina Gonzalez in 2016 . They founded Waypoint Contracting Inc ., where Lopez currently serves as the Vice-President . His tenure as vice-president of Waypoint has been instrumental in the rapid expansion and development of the company .
