SHAKERS & MOVERS n CHARITY CORNER
Socially Funded
By Zach Abel
My company, Socially Funded, will help your event provide a
silent auction that is going to thrive in 2018 and set it apart from
others. Once you’ve created traffic and sponsorships, the silent
auction is the next fundraising option, and guests expect it. You
can’t give it a half-hearted effort, but you also can’t exhaust too

the Difference!
We are a full-service catering
company operating in
Orlando and surrounding areas.
Our business is based
on three principles:
AUTHENTICITY, PASSION & LOVE
We will meet your needs
and exceed your expectations.

make your event unforgettable.
many resources and ignore sponsorships and ticket sales. You
don’t want to be the event that has the same 200 people every
year with 200 silent auction items. We specialize in running and
enhancing the auction from start to finish, with no cost for either
service. Your silent auction will be operated by professionals.
This way you can raise more money and put your resources into
more profitable aspects of the event. There is not one company
in the state of Florida who offers these services at absolutely
no cost and also includes your donations without taking a cut.
Don’t let anyone fool you. That’s why Socially Funded has made
a difference in the Tampa Bay area with over 100 events on the
books for this year alone. We are also excited to announce that
we’re expanding to Orlando!
Some say, silent auctions have gone stale because the charity
includes the same items in their auction every year. Many people
attend multiple charity events a year. People see the same
baskets and gift cards. Charities brag about their local sports
team donated items. If it were 1993, an Orlando Magic item
would be exciting, but it’s 2018. Entertainment and hospitality is
critical at your event, and Magic paraphernalia is just not enough!
Orlando City soccer generates a lot of excitement, but you need
more! What about people who don’t care about sports, but LOVE
pop culture? Do you have a framed piece from the latest popular
movie or timeless classic like Star Wars? Likely not. If you want to
have a high quality event, you need more than donated items.
You need the type of items that they’ve been shopping for and
simply have not been able to find.
Furthermore, you must not forget that Florida has more
transplants than any other state, and Orlando is an international
city, so you need items that will interest people from everywhere.
The same issue occurs at auctions in Tampa, where there are more
fans of other NFL teams than the Bucs. That’s why it is critical that
we help diversify your auction and provide exciting pieces that
will take your auction to the next level and give it a presentation
that looks much better than a flea market. Not only will we help
improve sales of your existing items by attracting more guests,
we will help raise more money with ours. Most importantly, we
can handle your entire auction from start to finish, which is critical
to the success of your event. Nothing annoys your guests more
than a dysfunctional registration and checkout where they wait
in line. There are hundreds of charity events in Central Florida,
and you want your event to be on the ‘short list’ of events that
everyone in the community wants to attend. Let us help take your
event to the next level!
We provide servers, dinnerware,
tablecloths, table set up,
decorations, and much more.

hen hosting a fundraising event, it is important
to provide the best entertainment and hospitality
to excite your guests and keep them coming
back to your event every year. Central Florida is a
competitive market, with a lot of high quality charity events. What
is going to set your event apart from the others? Is your event
growing every year or stagnant? Are you providing enough
excitement for your audience to keep them enthusiastically
coming back year after year? If these questions don’t have a
positive answer, your event may go stale, or worse, it may cease
to exist. The more your guests are entertained, the more fun they
will have, the more money you will raise, and they’ll come to your
event over others. These are things that many charities overlook,
as they aren’t willing to evolve and consider new ideas.
