about work-life balance because
they don't have any and you don’t
either. Unfortunately, when you're
starting a business, there's no such
thing as regular hours, weekends or
the end of the day. But we make time
for what we really want and desire.
7. YOU HAVE CONSTANT
INTERRUPTIONS
"Putting out fires" is a catchphrase
for a reason: When you're starting a
business, things always go wrong. Be
ready for unexpected interruptions
to pop up at any time, especially
during date night, family time and
vacations. However, you tend to
make this a regular practice. Turn off
your phone and electronic devices
and relax. Live in the moment!
8. YOU'RE ALWAYS TRAVELING
Building a business is all about
connections and often those connec-
tions happen over distance. Entre-
preneurs frequently travel for
business from meetings and to
special conferences. But you feel
you need to be in the front roll of every
event! Learn that every opportunity
isn’t always a great opportunity!
Don’t let distance and chasing fame
ruin a great relationship.
9. YOU LOVE WORKING
ON THE WEEKENDS
A business is like a newborn baby. It
requires const ant attention and
doesn't differentiate the workweek
from the weekend. While it's essential
to have designated couple time,
don't be surprised when your partner
needs a little more attention over the
weekend. Don’t be selfish and please
don’t be shy!
10. YOUR PHONE IS ALWAYS BUSY
You're always talking to people
on the phone: Dealers, Customers,
Colleagues, Co-founder; Another dis-
advantage of dating an entrepreneur
is that you will never talk to your
partner for hours and your phone
will always be busy. If you ever get
kidnapped or something, your part-
ner won’t realize you are missing at
least for a week! Because your phone
is your life!!
If half of these signs are acceptable,
you should date, and maybe even
consider, marrying an entrepreneur. But
personally, I know I require a lot and will
never be in competition with dreams
and goals that have absolutely nothing
to do with me. At the end of the day,
remember that relationships only work
when there are two people fighting for
the same common goals! And for those
already in a relationship, read this list
and chuckle. The ride is going to be
bumpy, but one thing I can vouch for,
the journey will be enjoyable. n
